Celebrations Term 1 – Word from the Tumuaki/Principal

April 3, 2023

Kia ora e te Whānau, Please take the time to read this awesome celebration of Rāroa’s first term.

As we conclude the term it is time to celebrate the huge successes of a wonderful first term. With hard work and dedication from our students, teachers and staff, we have achieved many significant milestones that have made us proud. It has been an absolute joy having students experience the full term one experience at Rāroa, with the complications of the previous two years behind us.

Our students have worked exceptionally hard this term, we have already seen positive progress in their learning. We have also been impressed by their willingness to take on new challenges, participate in extracurricular activities and give back to the Rāroa environment.

We have seen the development of strong relationships among our students and the positive relationships that have been made with teachers.

Our teachers have been instrumental in fostering this positive learning environment. They have designed engaging classroom programmes that have captured the attention of our students, leading to increased motivation and enthusiasm for learning. The teachers have also been providing extra support to students who need it, ensuring that no one is left behind. As a result of these efforts, we have seen an increase in expectations across the board. The bar has been raised, and we are confident that our students will continue to excel as we move into term 2.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our students, teachers, and staff for their hard work and commitment to our school. We look forward to continuing this positive momentum into the next term, and we are excited to see what new achievements and successes lie ahead.

Thank you Macy and Olivia from Room 17 and Noah from Room 16 for featuring in my photo ‘Literacy learning in action’
